A. Try a short story by Poe, a one act play by Edward Albee, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, an Aesops fable, a site of Dorothy Parker quotes for antecdotes, A Modest Proposal by Swift for an Essay, a biography on anyone who interests you, Yahoo News for a News Story and Ain't I a Woman Too? by Soujourner Truth as an oration. That should cover it. Pax - C

"La lionne et l'ourse" (the lioness and the female bear) "Le marchand, le gentilhomme, le patre et le fils de roi" (the merchant, gentleman, priest and prince). "Le vieillard et le trois jeunes hommes" (the old man and the tree young men) "La cigale et la fourmi" (the cicade [i think the american name is grasshopper] and the ant) - about the the grasshopper playing all summer, while the ant gathered food, and then when winter came, the ant had plently to eat and was happy, while the grasshopper starved because it was lazy and didn't prepare when it still had time. Ever missed the hype on some huge games?
Q. Well, I have. Quite a few huge games, actually. Few examples: Fable, Halo (til Halo 2 came out :D), Morrowind AND Oblivion, and some others. I've picked up all of these games since, and I love 'em all. I think missing the hype can be a good thing, like for games like Fable. A couple years after it came out, I picked up The Lost Chapters, and I loved the game, and I wasn't disappointed with it(even if it was a bit rushed :). Why? Because I didn't pay attention to all the "This is gunna be teh gratest gaem evar olololol!!!11one", which garnered it horrible reviews afterwards. Same with some other unpolished gems out there(Two Worlds, anyone?), and games that just fly right under the radar. Has this ever happened to you? What games? Was it… [cont.]

Xbox 360 problem - Help!?
Q. I have just recieved an Xbox 360 Premium console for Christmas. I have been playing avidly on it for the past few days, and today my dad managed to set up my Xbox Live so I recieved my 1 free month of Xbox Live Gold Membership. I made a live account in the same name as my account that I started off with. The live installation works - Great! Or so I thought... Turns out my gamerscore is back to 0 and I have no saved data of the 3 games I have been playing obsessively. Please help, as I am so annoyed that I might have to play the games again to get to the point I was up to (for example Fable II I was nearly at the end of) I tried to Recover my gamertag and that didn't work either... Q. please answers my question...

A. Myths are stories of god(s) interacting with humans used to demonstrate a religon's ethics, beliefs on where we came from and why we're here, our obligations to each other and the gods, etc. Autobiography is someone's life story written by themselves. Biography is someone's life story written by someone else. Fables are stories used to teach or demonstrate morals. Legends are stories that aren't true, like Paul Bunyan or the Hook. They are for entertainment. Realistic is not a category I am familiar with, sorry.

A. In no particular order: It was a fox who caught the Gingerbread Man. Swiper is the fox thief in Dora the Explorer. In an Aesop fable, a fox flattered a crow by complimenting her singing, causing her to sing and drop the piece of cheese it was holding (which was gobbled up by the fox). Moral of the story: Vanity is a weakness. In another Aesop fable, a fox brags to a kitten that he is master of a hundred cunning tricks, while she only has one -- the ability to climb a tree when hunters come. When the hunters come the kitten quickly climbs the tree while the fox cannot manage to use his cunning tricks to avoid the hunter's dogs. Moral of the story: A little common sense often is more important that a lot of cunning. One more… [cont.]

Are chrisitans just scared and narrow-minded?
Q. I'm of the opinion that people who follow the bible word for word are scared and lacking individuality. To elaborate: 1. They depend on the words some random "PEOPLE" wrote thousands of years ago when there was nothing better to do. Absolutely no evidence of an omnipotent god exists other than what was written down by people with too much time on their hands. How come christians or religious people don't take other volumes of work just as seriously, like Aesop's fables for example? 2. They lack individuality in that they were probably raised to believe in this imaginary creature and are just looking for attention and affirmation from others that they 'have strong convictions' when in reality they have none because they can't think for… [cont.]

A. You talk about narrow-minded. I'd rather be narrow-minded than simple-minded. I rejoice that an omnipotent God is going to squash little simple-minded people who have courage to say He doesn't exist, and that He is an imaginary creature. I really can't wait for Him to come again. I wish He would come right now and give you His opinion instead of mine. I'll let Him defend Himself.

Q. are then any websites that show u examples of how to make a cool looking fable character in the fable game like cool looking clother, hair, tattos,or any cool direct area for a scar or just any characters that u can just copy off of? oh and does anyone have any idea when fable 2 comes out?
Asked by Gus - Thu Jun 14 01:52:10 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I'm not sure of any web sites that tell you how to make a cool Fable character, but they key is experimentation. The best one that I came up with was when I beat the game with a completely evil character and the completely redeemed myself back to the good side. All I did was, after beating the game, (evil, of course) I went to the "good" temple and donated all the money I had until I was all the way good. It was interesting to see which physical traits from the evil side remained when I was good. Try it out...I think you'll be pleased with the results.

Since Aesop's Fables were written almost six hundred years before Christ..?
Q. ...in Ancient Greece, aren't they also valuable as examples of morality and how to live in society? My question was to show that morality existed in a non-Christian society without the benefit of the Bible. So, do Bible fans still believe that there was no morality before the Bible?

A. Aadel, with slavery having occured in America for well over 250 years, and the majority of those slaves originating from Africa, it is no wonder that there is a discernable interchange of cultural references. 1. Blackface Minstrelry...Hollywood did a movie with Al Jolson in the starring role. He did this movie in blackface. The influence of the Negro Spiritual and the rhythms and experience of life just after the Civil War are well represented in this movie. 2. A. A famous example is Aesop's fables about the hare and the tortoise (slow and steady wins the race) and the one about the grapevine. The Fox and the Grapes One hot summer s day a Fox was strolling through an orchard until he came to a bunch of grapes just ripening on a vine which had been trained over a lofty branch. Just the thing to quench my thirst, quothe he. Drawing back a few paces, he took a run and a jump, and just missed the bunch. Turning around again with a one, two, three, he jumped up, but with no greater success. Again and again he tried after the tempting morsel, but at last had to give up, and walked away with his nose in the air, saying, I am sure they are sour.
