Why is the Terminator series considered a science fiction horror franchise?
Q. What's particularly gruesome in the series?
Asked by angelic beauty - Wed Sep 2 00:25:42 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. It is considered a science fiction because it takes the aspect of Artificial Intelligence and it adds creativity to it. As for the horror, the first 3 films were pretty dark. The first one took place almost entirely at night and the second one had some horror aspects such as slow motion entrances.

Q. Hiiyahh, For my English course work i have to write a science fiction horror.. for homework i have to plan it, but i cant think of anything at all to do.. all of my mates have really gorey stuff.. but i want something to really gross them out.. only it has to be science fiction too which makes it hard.. id like it to be set on earth please.. Can you give me some ideas? Thanks..xx

A. Hmmm, you want gore, huh? How about a future in which machines have 'evolved' to independent intelligence, but have forgotten that humans created them? AND they don't know how to feel pain, and don't understand that anything else can, because there isn't anything alive any more except some plants and insects because of some disaster you'll think up. But then they discover a way onto an island, or a part of the world, they've been blocked off from until now because of magnetic rocks or something, and there they find some humans. They can't communicate at first, don't even realise the humans are intelligent, and start exploring their bodies without anaesthetic... Good luck, if it's any good :D! Hope you at least get inspired.

What was the best science fiction/horror series on TV?
Q. For example, I used to love Rod Serling's night gallery but I've also watched a lot of different SF series along the way, from lost in space ages ago to star gate, the various incarnations of star trek, battlestar gallactica, etc. What do you like and why?

A. For horror, I'm going with Masters of Horror. Even though it's newer, the stories have been creative, interesting, and gory. I could see myself rewatching them, unlike most horror series. Hmm, well, there's also Buffy, but I dont think that's really horror. Anyways, for sci-fi, I love Farscape.

Q. It's about a woman who somehow gets a alien/monster in her body/vagina which kills men and satisfy's her? I think the monster came from an asteroid. The monster is like a hand puppet and it kill guys durring sex and has sex with the woman while inside her. Its bad and campy and the kind of movie that opens in a drivin or goes straight to video. I think it cam out in VHS. No not Allien or Species. Those were both successful movies. This is a "B" movie. Like the very first Evil Dead movie. Please help me identify this early science-fiction/horror story?
Q. I want to identify a story I read several years ago. The story is in a Germanic horror genre and probably dates to the 18th century. I read the story in English but I'm not sure if I was reading a translation. The story concerns a renowned watchmaker whose watches have suddenly slowed or stopped working, coinciding with a downturn in his personal health. Upon examination, the watches' mainsprings have mysteriously stopped expanding. It is revealed that the watchmaker had invented the self-winding mechanism; as this mechanism created a self-contained entity which required no winding, it comprised an affront to God. I'm unclear on the rest of the story but if I had to guess I'd say it borrowed heavily on Faust. I'd thought it was by… [cont.]

Idea for a horror or science fiction short story? 10 points easy?
Q. In my English class we have to write a short story and the genres we can choose from are Horror or Sci-Fi and it has to be a minimum of 500 words, any ideas on what I should write? Thanks Heaps :)

A. Here are a few: 1. A post-zombie infected world, told from the perspective of a zombie who somehow kept his/her memories, personality, morality, etc...but seems to be the only one who did. 2. A darkly humorous story about a child who challenges Death to a game of Candyland 3. A person wakes up in a massive maze of white walls. The maze has certain things such as food and cloth items, some normal and others which give an electric shock when touched, It becomes increasingly clear the person is being experimented on and tested (by aliens perhaps?) 4. A ghost resorts to haunting in an attempt to alert people of a coming tragedy (from the ghosts perspective).
